Karate Scotland athlete Amy Connell was proud to attend the Glasgow Commonwealth Games “6 Months to Go” Launch Event.
Amy was invited in recognition of her work promoting women’s self-defence, confidence, and community empowerment through martial arts. At the event, she connected with Louisa Mahon, Chief Marketing Officer for Glasgow 2026 as seen in the photograph.
As part of this community focus, Amy is collaborating with Paisley Alive Festival, an initiative dedicated to bringing people together through positive shared experiences where she will be leading a women’s self-defence class as part of the event.
Through coaching, seminars, and grassroots initiatives, Amy continues to show that karate is more than a sport it’s a tool for confidence, resilience and stronger communities.
